The "birthday" of my blog *Autumn Heart*

Yesterday was the big day of my blog!!
Curious to know why??ha!
It is definitely because yesterday was the celebration of mid-autumn festival or more commonly to say "lantern festival" or "mooncake festival". But then what it had to do with my blog? of course have........this is because my blog is named *Autumn Heart*. Ha! I'm just kidding anyway..though it is not really that funny but I'm here today to share with all of you how I celebrate this festival this year 2009'.
Yesterday morning I had my Chemistry lab and after that I went to my friend's house.. Know what? My friend is the respective chef for lunch and I'm the big chef for dinner.. We cook our meal by ourselves yesterday, isn't it a special thing to do in the very special festival?? the product in the morning session is quite successful and nice taste, but when came to my turn to cook last night, it is not quite successful as my product which is initially wanna it to become kfc, it turns out to be not well-cooked..don't know how to explain through the blog, but if you want to try I can cook for you!!@.@
The day before, we are planning to celebrate the mid autumn festival outdoor carrying lantern, eating mooncake beside the swimming pool of the apartment but everythings turn out to be different because of the weather since it is not permitting us to do so as raining heavily outside..Actually according to the calendar, that night, the moon will be brightly lit and fully round but yesterday I can't get to see the moon, what I can see is just the umbrella-like things above my head, ha! That is my umbrella, the one who had block my view from the beautiful night and moon..but I wonder would the moon still came out to see how we are going to celebrate this day in such a good weather..fortunately in dk U, there is a inter-U mandarin debate competition..we went there for a while after our meal but not bad at least we have seen decoration of lantern around the hall to celebrate this special day..
Mid-Autumn festival this year was not too bad celebrated, but due to the weather nowadays ,for me it is still less something:( hope to be more fun in the coming years!!

Mid- Autumn festival

Mid-Autumn festival which is also commonly known as Lantern festival or Mooncake festival, is a festival that is well celebrated by Chinese people, Japanese people, Korean people and etc..Traditionally on this special festival which is one of the few important holidays in Chinese calendar, Chinese family member will fully appreciate this holiday to gather around to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon which is typically round, and eat moon cakes and pomelos together. Usually accompanying the celebration, there are additional cultural or regional customs, such as eating mooncakes and drinking tea commonly known as "yamcha" outside under the moon, children carrying brightly lit lantern..

Universiti Sains Malaysia

USM, known to be a good university by everyone ever since it achieved its apex university standard. As an Apex University, it has become a proud thing for every member of our university, for those who work here, study here..it is indeed a proud thing for us.

Ever since USM has been known to be of Apex University standard, they have upgrade the facilities of USM, for eg: they start painting the building again, build up the library at the DTSP site which is already consider big enough for our students, renovate the DTSP which I know is already luxurious to everyone..I'm quite curious to know, are those renovation stuffs and development an important things and in need for now? or just to show off? As I know from my friends in USM, their laboratory facilities and apparatus such as microscope are in poor condition and should be renewed, shouldn't this sum of money be used for that purpose? To renew the old and poor condition lab apparatus like microscope which their ocular or objective lenses has been broken and as the result, student have been viewed the specimen in a bad view..there are also good microscopes there but just that sometimes they are only for master students or those in higher levels.

Besides that, I can see that nowadays many foreigners, no matter from eastern or western countries, like to come to further their studies in Malaysia, instead study in their own country..can I know the reasons behind that? Isn't their country has better universities which are more facilitated than ours? Anyhow, got them come to study here, I'm really proud of them and our university which gain such a respect and known to them in their country..Everyone knows Malaysia has a good and indeed best university which is Universiti Sains Malaysia..

I am happy to study here, even though have certain shortcomings..Not to say love USM, but I do like USM very much..
